Pamper Your Pout

When it comes to pampering, most people think skin, body, nails and hair. Whether it be having a day at the spa with your friends, getting a massage or facial, a manicure over a glass of champagne or a fresh blowout, we spare no expense in the interest of beauty. But here in Toronto with our winter "Bomb Cyclones" and "Polar Vortex's", we have something else to worry about - our lips! With the current cold weather leaving everyones lips feeling dry and chapped, its just as important to give them a little pampering love as well.  

Exfoliate

There are 2 ways I like to do this. By using your toothbrush (after brushing your teeth scrub over your lips with the bristles to get rid of any flakes) or by using a lip scrub - bought or homemade. So many great lip scrubs are on the market (Featured: Bite Beauty Whipped Cherry) but you can easily make one yourself by mixing sugar and some balm together or even coconut/olive oil if you're in a pinch or you prefer a more natural solution.

Mask 

I've recently been loving the LANEIGE lip sleeping mask. It goes perfectly with my quick night time skincare routine because luckily with this product you don't have to wait to remove it, you sleep with it on! Same goes for the Bite Beauty - Agave lip mask. 

Plump

I was given the Makeup Up Forever Lip Booster at an event and have loved it ever since. The texture is thin, very serum like and comfortable to wear. It gives a slight plump look without having to suffer through the typical and painful tingling from most other plumping glosses. 

Hydrate 

I have so many favourite lip balms I love to apply after doing those first 3 steps, and truthfully any thicker lip balm will do. My top 3 favourites though are: Carmex, By Terry Baume de Rose, and the Bite Beauty Agave Mask as a balm (It's so comfortable to wear I use it sometimes as a mask and hydrating balm in one!) They also offer some with tints so its perfect to go out in if you feel you need a hint of colour. 

Now your lips are prepped and ready to put on your favourite lipstick!
