Finally! A product I have been waiting for. A dermatologist created, plant based alternative to Vaseline! When I saw that this product had no petroleum, I loved it already. I can't express enough how bad petroleum is. Some people swear by it! It can create the illusion that its hydrating and moisturizing the skin, but its doing so while clogging the pores, not allowing any of your skins moisture to escape and breath. If your skin doesn't have enough inner moisture to begin with, and you're clogging the pores with petroleum creating a seal, are you really making any progress at all? Not exactly. Sure, it can be hard to avoid petroleum in all things. You'll find it in many lipsticks, lip balms, body lotions, and other skincare products - many of which I still deal with on a day to day basis. I try to avoid it when I can, but for a product like an all over healing balm that I use every single day for many different things, that's where I really put my foot down and say no to Vaseline. I had my boyfriend stop using it on his cracked lips and start using Egyptian Magic, an all natural skin salve which really works for him as an alternative. Now as much as I love Egyptian Magic, (fun fact, its something we also use on film sets to create the look of sweat on actors) I simply don't like the smell of it. Dr. Rogers Restore Balm still has a faint scent to it, but its something that I can handle. The scent is just from the ingredients itself, every balm and product has it, but in others its just covered up with synthetic fragrance.
I use Dr. Rogers for an endless amount of things. My lips, cuticles, eczema flair ups, cuts and burns, after getting waxing done, and to use as a gloss on top of lipstick. It would also be great to use on any new tattoos or post lasering to help moisturize the skin during the healing period, and even as a diaper cream! It comes in a tube form which is pictured above, as well as in a bigger jar. This stuff really works wonders, helping to soothe, protect and promote healing of dry and damaged skin, lips and nails. Now that I have it, I don't know that I will ever go back to using anything else.
I can't recommend this product enough, and would definitely suggest that everyone check it out to see for yourself that it works just as well if not better than the other stuff - but made clean!
